Kaven was the points leader and red plate holder heading into the final round of the championship at Walton Raceway in Ontario. Kaven arrived at Walton Raceway with a 42 point lead over 2nd place. In order for Kaven to clinch the championship, he needed to earn 9 points. Not only did he do so, but he earned a solid 2nd place overall finish on the day. Tyler Medaglia was impressive all season holding onto 3rd place round after round. The MX1 class was jam packed with talent as Medaglia battled for race wins each weekend. Going into the final race of the series at Walton, Tyler had an 8 point lead over 4th place. Tyler earned an impressive 4th overall on the day at Walton which secured his 3rd place championship finish. Track conditions were not ideal, but both riders persevered. The weather started out Cloudy Sunday morning but later cleared as the sun came out. The track conditions proved to be challenging Sunday as it had rained the day before. The track builders at Walton worked extremely hard to make sure the track was in the best possible condition for racing. They could not have done a better job of prepping the race track.

Podium for Benoit in Moncton

Royal Distributing Fox KTM Team rider Kaven Benoit finished a solid 2nd overall. He went 1-4 for 2nd Overall in Moncton. Kaven was able to pull the Royal Holeshot in Moto 1 and rounded the first turn in 3rd in Moto 2. MX1Team rider Tyler Medaglia obtained two 7th place finishes in both MX1 Moto’s and finished inside the top 10 with a 7th place overall finish. Sunday’s racing proved to be extremely challenging as the track conditions were less than ideal. The track was extremely dry, hard packed and littered with rocks. Passing was no easy task as large rocks sprayed the riders attempting to make a pass. Aside from the track conditions, the weather could not have been better. It was a beautiful sunny August day without a cloud in the sky. There were a tremendous amount of spectators on hand to witness their favorite pro riders. Without question, Moncton had the largest amount of spectators.

Gopher Dunes Opening April 6 - CMRC Practice

Gopher Dunes is ready to make the long-anticipated announcement of our Opening Day for the 2014 Season!  This sure has been one bitter cold winter with record snowfalls and a winter that just wouldn't end!  Finally a few days ago the guys were able to start pumping water off the low-lying areas, having been delayed by the sub-zero night-time temp's.  Although our snow is now pretty much gone, it's the deep ground frost that has caused uncertainties as to when we would be able to open our facility, with the parking fields and laneways still very wet and muddy!

CMRC Saskatchewan Finale

Last race of the year!  Yorkton had a great turn out.  We saw quite a few riders from Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba come out and enjoy the nicely prepped track in Yorkton.  The 1 inch rain shower from the preceding day helped the track hold its beautifully groomed form.  Rick Bradshaw from Schrader Motors with some help from Jesse Kwasnicia did the race announcing for the day.  They did a fantastic job in keeping the fans and racers informed of the day’s events and action has it happened on the track.

Assiniboia CMRC 2013 Race Report

Well the riders that ignored the forecasted torrential down pour for the Assiniboia region were gifted with the best conditions this track has recently had for a provincial race for a long time.  The track saw a good inch and a half of rain early Saturday; a bit of drizzle the rest of the day with a good overnight soak in.  Practice was a tiny bit muddy; but once there was some lines and ruts laid down; it was traction heaven! The temperature was moderate with a lightly overcast sky.  Really; it was an ultimate day for racing.  The track held up right up to the last few motos of the day.

Strang's MX Park hosts the Atlantic CMRC Fall Series Fourth Round

Strang's motocross park near Port Elgin, New Brunswick played host to the 2nd last round of the CMRC Atlantic Fall Series. A forecast of rain for the weekend hurt the turnout as the number of riders was down by about a 100. The rains stayed away until the last couple of motos on the day and those 200 plus racers that did show up put on a great show. The track was in amazing shape with riders blasting the sandy berms. Here are a few photos of how the day unfolded. Be sure to check out the final race of the Atlantic CMRC Fall Series at Riverglade MX on September 14th.
