Last race of the year! Yorkton had a great turn out. We saw quite a few riders from Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba come out and enjoy the nicely prepped track in Yorkton. The 1 inch rain shower from the preceding day helped the track hold its beautifully groomed form. Rick Bradshaw from Schrader Motors with some help from Jesse Kwasnicia did the race announcing for the day. They did a fantastic job in keeping the fans and racers informed of the day’s events and action has it happened on the track.
The Riverglade MX Park outside Moncton played host to two days of great motocross action. On Saturday September 14th the Atlantic CMRC Fall Series wrapped up and on September 15th the MX Park hosted the Moto for the Cure ride day with all proceeds going to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society.
Well the riders that ignored the forecasted torrential down pour for the Assiniboia region were gifted with the best conditions this track has recently had for a provincial race for a long time. The track saw a good inch and a half of rain early Saturday; a bit of drizzle the rest of the day with a good overnight soak in. Practice was a tiny bit muddy; but once there was some lines and ruts laid down; it was traction heaven! The temperature was moderate with a lightly overcast sky. Really; it was an ultimate day for racing. The track held up right up to the last few motos of the day.
Strang's motocross park near Port Elgin, New Brunswick played host to the 2nd last round of the CMRC Atlantic Fall Series. A forecast of rain for the weekend hurt the turnout as the number of riders was down by about a 100. The rains stayed away until the last couple of motos on the day and those 200 plus racers that did show up put on a great show. The track was in amazing shape with riders blasting the sandy berms. Here are a few photos of how the day unfolded. Be sure to check out the final race of the Atlantic CMRC Fall Series at Riverglade MX on September 14th.
As I stood up on top of one of the table tops early in the morning with the rumblings of the 8oclock riders meeting in the distance. I wondered why the CMRC discontinued Regina’s track as one of the stops on the CMRC Pro National circuit. As I panned the track I saw many elevation changes, bowl turns, step ups, step downs, table tops, doubles, triples and uphill turns. Regina’s track is pretty awesome.

After nine rounds and 18 motos the 2013 Pro National season is in the books. There has been some great racing and a few surprises. Leading Edge Kawasaki took home both titles for the second year in a row, can anyone match their speed in 2014? That is a question that we will ahve to wait to answer, but one thing is for sure, every other team will certainly try.
Kindersley had a beautiful day for their second race of the season. They did not have to pump off a bunch of water on the lower level just to gain access this time. However they did do a lot of water pumping! This track was well watered. It definitely created some challenges for many of the riders in practice. There was a lot of head shaking, tear-offs flying and pressure washers roaring. But that was mostly forgotten by the time the second half of the first round of motos were almost done. Had there not been a few corners that still had water lying in them things would have been golden. There was some nice deep corner ruts and some areas with excellent traction.
Other than Shawn Maffenbeier recording his first MX2 National career win on the strength of 2-1 motos, there were few surprises at the final round of the Monster Energy Motocross Nationals in Walton, Ontario on Sunday.
