Jessica Malaknejadorangi, also known around the track as “Longname”, can be found riding a Honda CRF250R in the Ladies class and, from time-to-time, the youth class to get some seat time in the Atlantic CMRC Motocross Series.

She has had plenty of success in the past, winning several Atlantic Championships, racing the Canada Cup at Walton and, what she is most proud of, winning the Kyle Elliott award in 2009. Jessica usually battles with Morgan Gillis and Alexandra Josey for the lead, but what she really wants is to race the whole national series, getting good enough results to be on the podium and potentially race in the United States.

PTJ_1734_Jess_Longname_640x480That dream started in 1997, when she was seven and her dad bought her brother a dirt bike, who was only three at the time and could not ride it because he was too small. Her father did not want her to ride, but she was stubborn and took the bike out one day and just began riding. They quickly learned that she could ride and decided to test her skills on the YZ50 at the Riverglade Motocross Park. From that moment on she has been hooked and has never felt anything as exciting as motocross. Every summer since that time, she had ridden motocross.

She lives in the Town of Quispamsis, NB, just outside the City of Saint John and enjoys snowboarding at Poley Mountain in the winter and plays some softball in the summer, but the sports are nothing compared to the thrill of motocross. She is also an aspiring motocross videographer and photographer. When she is not on her Honda, she can be found trackside taking photos of her friends. Jessica is always friendly around the track, quick with a smile or joke and keeping everyone entertained.

Jeremy McGrath is her overall motocross hero, but she admires and watches other girls race because she can relate to them.

She had a bit of a tough year this year, only winning one race, she had some bike problems and a few crashes, but it is a learning experience and she will come back next season with lots of fire to do well.

Jessica has a hard time deciding which Atlantic track is her favorite because she thinks all the track owners work very hard to prepare the tracks for the racers. However, if she had to choose, she likes the Strang’s race weekend, because of both the track layout and the great event he puts on. Jessica always enjoys the nationals weekend at Riverglade.

She would like to thank Eldriges Honda, who has helped her out with bikes and parts for years. Her biggest thanks goes out to her parents who have always supported her and really go the extra mile for her.
