Over 300 racers made their way to the Glade for the opening of the Atlantic CMRC Spring Series on Saturday May 4th. The day started out with some cool temperatures, it was only 4 degrees during practice, however, by the afternoon it had warmed to beautiful 18 degrees. It was a very successful start to the Atlantic CMRC Spring Motocross Series.
Courtland, ON - Gopher Dunes Racing recently announced a new initiative for the 2013 race season which will see riders from across Canada join the GDR organization as amateur support riders. We are proud to announce the first rider to join our new GDR amateur program is 18 year old Konnor Long from Saint John, New Brunswick! Konnor is an up and coming intermediate rider who experienced great successes in 2012 with the highlights being a 6th place finish at Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National in C class and he followed that up with a 10th place in Intermediate at the Walton Trans-Can Canadian Amateur National. Konnor also finished off the year strong competing in Montreal Supercross as an amateur finishing 14th in the MX2 main event. With the additional support from GDR, and guidance of pro rider Tyler Medaglia, Konnor is determined to have a break out season in 2013 and has set a goal to win all of his Intermediate classes at the Walton Trans-Can as he prepares himself for the jump into the Pro ranks! Welcome aboard Konnor!
I got an email today from injured Powersports Canada Honda/TLD rider Tyler Medaglia. While his injury sounds pretty rough, he's in good spirits and wants to tank his fans and sponsors for all the support! ~ IMX
Courtland, Ontario- The stage was set for another great weekend of racing in Ste-Julie this past weekend when Tyler Medaglia and team GDR Troy Lee Designs Powersports Canada rolled into town currently holding the 3rd overall spot in the series. After a strong showing by Tylers wife, Heidi Cooke, on Saturday at the women's National with a 1-1 OA, the stage was set for Tyler to put on a great show for the enthusiastic Sunday crowd in typical Medaglia fashion.
So we’re past the half way point in the Monster Energy Motocross Nationals. With Gopher Dunes done there are only four rounds remaining in the 9 round series, Ste Julie, Riverglade, Sand Del Lee and Walton. Monster Energy/Leading Edge Kawasaki/Thor’s Matt Goerke has a tremendous lead in the MX1 class, having handed only a single win over to OSTFF/Rockstar Energy/Yamaha’s Bobby Kirniry. In his rookie year in the big bike class, Tyler Medaglia has managed to keep his Gopher Dunes Racing/Powersport Canada Honda/Troy Lee Designs ride in front of former teammates and series favourites Colton Facciotti and Dusty Klatt on their Red Bull/Royal Distributing/Fox Racing/KTMs.
From Gopher Dunes Racing:
Gopher Dunes is one of the toughest, most physically demanding stop on the Monster Energy Motocross National series. Riders deal with not only each other, but the scorching July sun and the physically draining, power robbing sand of the dunes.
