Team Babbitt’s Monster Energy/Amsoil Kawasaki’s Bowers and Villopoto Top the Podium in Tulsa
Irvine, Calif. (January 28, 2013) – Round 4 of the AMA Arenacross Series featured a single night of racing on Saturday from the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla., where Team Babbitt’s Monster Energy/Amsoil Kawasaki presented by Maxxis riders Tyler Bowers and Tyler Villopoto took the wins in the Arenacross and Arenacross Lites classes, respectively. Bowers extended his points lead by winning the first main event and overcoming the eight-rider inversion to finish second, giving him a 1-2 score and the overall victory. He also came out on top of the head-to-head bracket races to earn an additional championship point. Villopoto had a breakthrough weekend winning his first Arenacross Lites main event, and finishing on the podium in the Arenacross class in third overall. Zach Ames was fast all day, but in the main events made a few mistakes to finish 10th overall.

Babbitt’s Monster Energy/Amsoil Kawasaki presented by Maxxis’ Tyler Bowers showed why he is the two-time defending AMA Arenacross champion as he swept all four main events at his team’s hometown race. Bowers put on a show for the partisan crowd at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich., extending his points lead to 35 over his teammate Zach Ames who finished fourth overall on Friday night and sixth overall on Saturday. Tyler Villopoto, in only his second AMA Arenacross race, made the main events on Saturday night and finished 14th overall.
Babbitt’s Monster Energy/Amsoil Kawasaki’s Bowers Retains the AMA Arenacross Points Lead
Irvine, Calif. (January 15, 2013) – Round 2 of the AMA Arenacross series came to an exciting close at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Md., with a three-way Kawasaki tie for the overall on Saturday. On Friday night, Babbitt’s Monster Energy/Amsoil Kawasaki presented by Maxxis’ Tyler Bowers won the second main event which gave him the overall win for the evening. Bowers ran away with the victory in Saturday’s second main event giving him a 3-1 score, which tied him with Kawasaki rider Michael McDade who scored a 1-3 in the main events. The tie was settled by the Head-to-Head bracket races giving McDade the overall on Saturday as he took the Head-to-Head win and scored one additional championship point. Bowers’ teammate Zach Ames took the first moto win on Friday night, but a mistake in the second main while leading dropped him to seventh overall. Ames made up for it on Saturday, completing the three-way tie with his 2-2 main event score and taking third overall. Making his Arenacross debut, Tyler Villopoto made all four main events of the weekend and finished just outside the top-10.
Eve Brodeur Worcester AMA Arenacross race report
Last week-end was the AMA Worcester, MA, Arenacross. Eve raced in the supermini support class both Friday and Saturday night programs and in the Girls and Womens class on amateur day.
Babbitt’s Monster Energy/Amsoil Kawasaki’s Bowers and Ames Win in Worcester
Irvine, Calif. – The 2013 AMA Arenacross series kicked off at the DCU Center in Worchester, Mass., on Friday and Saturday night. The new dual main event format added some excitement as Babbitt’s Monster Energy/Amsoil Kawasaki’s Tyler Bowers took the first main event win, but was unable to repeat his performance in the second main event. This left the door open for his teammate Zach Ames to steal the overall with a 2-2 finish. On Saturday, Bowers was unstoppable. He won both main events and acquired the points lead, despite having to start from the back row due to the new inversion rule. Ames finished third overall on Saturday night behind Bowers and Kawasaki rider Michael McDade. Racing both the Arenacross class and the Lites class on Friday, McDade took the second main event win and the win in the Arenacross Lites main event. On Saturday he finished second overall in between Bowers and Ames.

This past weekend in Chilliwack, another top KTM racer, Kaven Benoit, went toe-to-toe with Canada’s best indoor riders at Round 5 of the KTM Canadian AX Championships!
