The Nationals Invade the Glade

From Paul Jordan -

The 7th round of the CMRC National Series made its only Atlantic stop at the Riverglade Motocross Park on August 5th and pro riders from across Canada and the United States invaded the Glade for some amazing racing. Everyone agrees that one of the best parts about the Glades weekend are the amazing fans. This year was no exception with thousands of people filling the stands and grounds in the scorching heat where temperatures were pushing 40 degrees.

Photos from Round 4 of the CECs

Recovery time is over. The Royal Distributing Canadian Enduro Championships were a big success, no small part due to the dedication of volunteers and the passion of the riders at the events. Trudy Elder provided some amazing shots for Inside MotoX & Offroad's website. The name might seem familiar as her husband, Brad, suffered a terrible crash. We were all shocked when we heard what had happened; this was by far the most serious injury at the series to date. Keeping in touch with local know it all, Lee Fryberger, IMX is assured that Brad is on his way to recovery, and with a big sigh of relief, we post his wife's goregous photos and wish him a safe, speedy and complete recovery.

The Dirt Bike Pentathalon

So, stay with me, will you. B and I were watching the women's pentathalon Saturday afternoon, and at dinner afterwards we both agreed, what if the dirt bike world had a similar event? We tried working with "moto" but it's a bit restrictive, so the working name right now is "Dirt Bike Pentathalon." We toyed with the idea of "Motorcycle Pentathalon" and "Off Road Pentathalon," but for reasons you'll see later, if you stay with me, they didn't work.

Bringing in the Summer

Well the last two rounds of the CMRC Atlantic MX Spring Series have come to an end here on the East Coast with two amazing weekends on two of our premier tracks in the Atlantic Region. The second last round took place only 40 minutess from my home in Brookfield N.S. at Mitch Cooke's Pleasant Valley MX. The last round of the series saw most riders make the trip across the water to Prince Edward Island, this is our only stop on the island in 2012 however it is host to one of the most amazing tracks on the circuit.

MOTOPARK IN AUGUST

Sounds like a song from days gone past, doesn't it? It's been a hot and dry summer in Ontario, and Motopark has been feeling it just as much as the rest of us. They've experienced a record number of ridable days, not to mention all the over time hours put in by the amazing staff who've spent hours watering the track every day to make sure it stays in mint condition.

Dusty Klatt wants YOU!

Rosedale, British Columbia (August 2, 2012) - Popkum Motor Park is pleased to announce that we have arranged to host two motocross schools with 2X Canadian National MX1 Champion, 2x Canadian National MX2 Champion - West, 2X Montreal Supercross Winner MX 1 & MX2 – “Campbell River Crusher” Dusty Klatt!

Round Five of the Wiesner Insurance Ontario Cross Country Championship presented by Apex Cycle KTM was held this past Sunday at the “world famous” Parry Sound location. Past events at this facility have proven to be very technically challenging, rewarding only the most well prepared racer. The 2012 edition of the Parry Sound XC certainly added to this reputation.

CGRT Wildhorse Hare Scramble Race Report

Wardlow AB: The eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains provided a beautiful venue for the Wildhorse Harescrambles. A 10km course of wet, slippery roots, and stump infested clear cuts challenged riders to keep themselves on two wheels.

Cole Dobovich ( Provost, AB ) holeshot the Pro class start, leading into the first lap while CGRT veteran rider, Shane Cuthbertson missed the kickstart lever on his bike and was dead last. Once settling down from the mistake on the start, Shane charged his way past the pack, taking the lead by the end of the first lap. Shane pushed hard, posting lap times one minute faster than second place finisher Ty McKenna ( KTM, A&E Racing and Marine ).

After 2 hours of pushing, Shane topped the field, followed by Ty, and Cole on the final podium position. “ A great effort by Shane, he’s been riding very well this season, and really liking the TE 300. And I’m very happy to see the young guys on the podium, learning from the veterans like Shane and applying those skills to their own racing”, states CGRT manager Lee Fryberger.

The junior member of the team, Cole Dobovich had this to say, “I’m felt a little uncomfortable with the loose logs in the clear cut, but its something I’ve got to work with and get more confident in so I can push harder. Otherwise my bike worked well, especially my suspension, very happy with Pro-Action Suspension.”

CGRT is proud to be supported by: Husaberg Canada, A&E Racing, GoldenTyre ( Shane ), Dunlop ( Cole ), FMF, Omega Transport, Rebel Energy Services, FLY, Dragon, Shorai, UFA, SIDI, Warp 9, PG Graphics, ProMoto Billet, ProAction Suspension West, Kermaxx, T.M.
