The Amateur Nationals at Loretta Lynn’s is the largest, most prestigeous amatuer motocross event in North America. A win at the Amateur Nationals gives a rider instant national notoriety and can serve as a springboard to a lucrative professional motocross career. While many riders are content with racing at the local and regional levels, others seek to put their mark on the world stage.

Ottawa area's Connor Arsenault is just one of the over 20,000 racers who spent the last four months qualifying for the event. The top finishers in area and regional qualifiers earn a berth into the National Championship race at Loretta Lynn’s.

Connor started the qualifying process making the trip to Area 51 in Batavia, NY for the first round of qualifiers this past April, and was successful in transferring to the regional in two out of the three classes he entered. Not satisfied with just two, Connor hit up a second area qualifier at Unadilla, in New Berlin, NY to qualify for the one class he didn't make it into at the first round.

At just 12 years old, Connor is competing in a class with riders as old as 15, and showed he could hold his own this past weekend at the final regional qualifier in Shippensburg, PA finishing 7th place overall and securing the final qualifying position in the Sr. Mini 12-14 Stock class guaranteeing him a spot on the gate for the most important amateur motocross event of the year.

Connor also had a great finish in the Sr. Mini 12-14 Modified class finishing 10th overall, just shy of a guaranteed qualifying position.
Connor will join less than a dozen other elite Canadian riders that have what it takes to compete at the world’s most prestigious amateur motocross event this July 29th - August 4th at Loretta Lynn's ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN.
