One of the most notorious and largest desert races in North America is the Desert 100 held every year just outside of Odessa, Washington. The race draws crowds upwards of 3,000 people, and close to 2,000 racers each year and attracts Canada’s top racers. Thanks to the amazing support of my friends at Emperor Racing, and the Stump Jumpers Motorcycle Club, I was able to get on the road Friday afternoon convoying with Tom & my girlfriend Megan. The butterflies in my tummy flipped around when I had the sudden realization, that besides a short break-in ride on the new KTM, I had been without a bike and had not ridden a motorcycle since last October! I decided staying safe would be the game plan for this year’s race. Last year I won the race and Megan came in a close second, so on the way down this year we decided we would seal our fates early on by buying a giant cucumber, and break it together to see who ended up with the bigger half. Whoever got the bigger piece would win the desert 100! Megan got a giant piece and I ended up with the stub off the end so it wasn’t look good for me!
