Wardlow AB: The 88th edition of the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) held September 30th to October 5th in Olbia (Sardinia), Italy is in the books and CGRT founding members Shane Cuthbertson (competitor) and Lee Fryberger (support) were in attendance as part of the Team Canada contingent.
After six gruelling days three canadians earned gold medals in Italy. Shelby Turner became the first Canadian woman to earn a gold medal at the ISDE and Shane Cuthbertson added a gold medal to his already impressive ISDE history. Tyler Murray also did Canada proud earning a gold medal. The rest of the Canadian riders had impressive rides with 12 of the 14 finishing the event, with a bunch of silver medals.
Corner Grass Racing Team is pleased to announce the continued support from Husaberg Canada for its efforts in 2013. “It seems like yesterday that Shane and I started CGRT, and today we are announcing our sixth year of racing Husaberg’s! We’ve got an incredible year planned, and we are super excited to finalize the rest of our program and make the announcements,” stated team manager, Lee Fryberger.
Wardlow AB: The penultimate round of the Gieco EnduroCross Series took place in the Idaho Center near Boise, Idaho and provided the most technically difficult course of the season. CGRT’s Shane Cuthbertson ( Airdrie AB ) made the trek to challenge the Open Amateur class and to qualify for the Pro class for the evening show.
Wardlow AB: Shane ( aka Moose ) Cuthbertson ( Cochrane ) continues his dominance as he trampled the competition at the Second Gear Club’s Whispering Pines Hare Scrambles this past weekend.
From CGRT - “Dave has supported my racing efforts for many years, and I always enjoy racing his event, good, solid, technical single track.” Shane Cuthbertson
Wardlow AB: The eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains provided a beautiful venue for the Wildhorse Harescrambles. A 10km course of wet, slippery roots, and stump infested clear cuts challenged riders to keep themselves on two wheels.
Cole Dobovich ( Provost, AB ) holeshot the Pro class start, leading into the first lap while CGRT veteran rider, Shane Cuthbertson missed the kickstart lever on his bike and was dead last. Once settling down from the mistake on the start, Shane charged his way past the pack, taking the lead by the end of the first lap. Shane pushed hard, posting lap times one minute faster than second place finisher Ty McKenna ( KTM, A&E Racing and Marine ).
After 2 hours of pushing, Shane topped the field, followed by Ty, and Cole on the final podium position. “ A great effort by Shane, he’s been riding very well this season, and really liking the TE 300. And I’m very happy to see the young guys on the podium, learning from the veterans like Shane and applying those skills to their own racing”, states CGRT manager Lee Fryberger.
The junior member of the team, Cole Dobovich had this to say, “I’m felt a little uncomfortable with the loose logs in the clear cut, but its something I’ve got to work with and get more confident in so I can push harder. Otherwise my bike worked well, especially my suspension, very happy with Pro-Action Suspension.”
