Riding competently in his practices, Shane and his TE300 Husaberg won his qualifiers for both Open Am and Pro, meaning he would ride two classes in the evening show. The intensity of the evening show is a different animal than the daytime qualifiers, as the depth of talent in the heats is deep with the seeded riders entering the foray. Shane’s Pro evening ended shortly into his heat with a crash, resulting in a poor gate pick in his LCQ and a non qualifying ride.
However, his main event in the Open Amateur class went much better for CGRT’s star, as he battled his way to a 3rd place, podium finish, behind Factory Beta rider Max Gersten and Pro Trials rider Bryan Roper. “ The track was super technical, with a really tough Matrix section. I had good battles all day though, so I’m pretty happy with my day, except in the Pro class where is was a downhill run from the gate. I know what I have to work on, and can’t wait for the next round “.
