CGRT’s Ben Rego of Kitimat, BC earned an invitation after his performance in Sacremento, California. The Husaberg rider tried his best to keep focused on the task at hand and not let the glitz and glamour of the ESPN presentation overwhelm him.
A very stiff bib mousse left Ben scrambling for traction with his TE 300 on the slippery, technical course. And that technical course took its toll on many talented riders. Ben qualified back in the pack, sandwiched between KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak and Xtinction Hard Enduro veteran Kyle Redmond.
Failing to qualify from his heat, Ben was forced to ride a last chance qualifier, where he battled back from a poor start, forward until a small bobble slowed his progress and his chances of moving forward into the Enduro X final.
“The experience of competing on a stage where, literally, the world is watching live streaming online, US national television and huge crowd in the Staples Center is such a great experience for Ben and great for our sponsors. To be invited is an incredible experience considering the depth of talent and where the riders are coming from. Top riders from the Enduro World Championships and Extreme Enduro competitors make this a very competitive mix into the regular entry of the Geico US EnduroCross series” comments Lee Fryberger, Manager of CGRT.Ben is proud to be supported by: Husaberg Canada, A&E Racing, Dunlop, FMF, Omega Transport, Rebel Energy Services, FLY, Dragon, Shorai, UFA, SIDI, Warp 9, PG Graphics, ProMoto Billet, ProAction Suspension West, Kermaxx, T.M.
