After over 50 minutes of test time in Round 1, Ben took the top spot on the E3 podium, only 4 seconds ahead of Shane!!! Husaberg TE300’s powered the team mates to not only the top two podium positions, but to third and fourth overall for the day. It was a great day for the big bore 2 strokes.
Meanwhile in E2, Cole Dobovich ( Provost, AB ) continues to improve his skills on his FX 450, narrowly missing a top 5 finish by 9 seconds with a mistake in the second enduro test of the day. Cole’s calculated 5th place finish in Round 4 helped him secure 6th overall E2 in the series. Feeling confident with his result and his constant improvement at every round, Cole is looking forward to the final two rounds in Eastern Canada in the fall.
Round 4 would result in a mile stone for CGRT, as Ben and Shane would repeat their performances of the previous day, finishing 1-2 in E3, 3-4 overall on the day and with a 1-2-1-1 performance, Ben won the E3 2012 Canadian Enduro Championship!
“Ben has been riding very well and on a high since his invitation to the X Games and subsequent trip to LA. His confidence is very evident, as his riding style has shown marked improvement and his results are indicative of that. Shane has taken slightly different path of competition in 2012, with his focus on EnduroCross, but, by the smile on his face this weekend, you could tell he was having fun and when people are having fun, results happen. I couldn’t be happier as a team manager. Cole landed his goal at Round 4 with a top 5 in a very talented
E2 class, Shane, showing that while he might be aging, he is not at all loosing his mojo. And Ben has landed CGRT its first Championship, the ‘Giant Killer” as I’ve often said, has become one, himself. Carrying himself with poise and grace, we are very happy to have Ben represent CGRT and our sponsors. Already in 2012, we’ve earned 8 podiums and one Championship at the CEC’s, and multiple podiums at regional and Geico EnduroCrosses…we are happy, but we’ve got to keep pushing” stated an elated Team Manager, Lee Fryberger. Lee spent weekend in a course marshalling roll.
