Last week was the Canadian National championship, the Walton Transcan.  After the Sand Del Lee’s race where Eve placed second, we drove directly to Walton for the Tuesday move-in day. Eve was pretty confident going in and felt a top 5 overall at the end of the week was in reach. After Tuesdays practice session we knew that If she kept it on 2 wheels she could even break the top 3.

First moto went pretty good, a top ten start that quickly turned into a 3 way battle for 2nd place. She ended up finishing 3rd behind Kate McKerroll and Renée Riendeau.

Second moto didn’t go as planned, Eve crashed all by herself off the start, quickly remounted and started to make a charge back thru the pack. She made her way back to the front runner and finished wheel to wheel just behind 5th place finisher Kennedy Lutz.

Third and last moto was the best of the week, Eve got second of the start, was running in first for half the race but a couple of mistake opened the door for McKerroll to take first place. She was able to hold on to second place for her second podium of the week. She also set the fastest lap time of the race.

Her 3-6-2 finish were good enough for a 3rd place overall for the week, a pretty impressive finish for a 12 year old considering that last year she could barely break the top 20 at this same race.

Next week we are in Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil for round 6 of the Quebec provincial series.
